An alumnus of Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in performing arts as she grew as a child. She performed on stage as well as at school. Her move from Los Angeles to study theatre at the University of Southern California and later, she played Belle the Princess in Beauty and the Beast for about a year in Disneyland. Ferland has, on top of her Emmy nomination she has received in her career nearly a half dozen other awards. These include a Young Artist Award and a CAMIE Award.
